Entrepreneurship has been part of the Martin County fabric since its early years. Today, Martin County's small businesses continue to innovate and succeed in the marketplace. The Business Development Board makes it a priority to serve the need of small businesses and facilitate their growth.
In 2008, Martin County was the only county in the state to win three Governor’s Diversification Awards. The three winners were small businesses. The winners were Advanced Technologies Group Inc. for Innovation, Ecosphere Technologies Inc., and SOL Inc. for Export.
