The Business Development Board of Martin County (BDBMC) today hosted its annual Business Appreciation Luncheon with Frank Brogan, Chancellor of the State University System of Florida, as the keynote speaker.  The event, sponsored by Keiser University and Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers, drew over 300 members of Martin County’s business community to the Hutchinson Island Marriott.

The Business Development Board of Martin County (BCBMC) today received word that four (4) Martin County companies are recipients of the 2010 Governor’s Business Diversification Awards, a statewide program that recognizes Florida companies in emerging and high-technology industries for their contributions to Florida’s economic growth.  Coordinated by Enterprise Florida, the awards presentation is held by the Governor annually during Florida’s Industry Appreciation Week (September 20-24, 2010) in Tallahassee.

Four Martin County companies have won 2010 Governor’s Business Diversification Awards, the third consecutive year Martin County has had the most award winners among Florida counties.

The Business Development Board of Martin County is pleased to announce the expansion of Sheet Metal Unlimited, a general fabrication and machine shop partly owned by James Crocker, CEO of Waterblasting Technologies and Jose Guch, the company’s president. The company, which currently employs 22, has entered into a lease-purchase agreement for space located at 3920 SE Commerce Street as part of the expansion.
